Alexis Sampley
Alexis Sampley is entering her 5th year teaching and her fourth year at Irma Marsh Middle School. Prior to IMMS, Alexis taught at Bridgeport ISD and assisted with all high school and middle school band activities! Currently, her responsibilities include teaching the beginner flute, oboe, and saxophone classes along with leading the symphonic band and co-teaching all other middle school band classes!
Hailing from Italy, TX, Ms. Sampley graduated from Italy High School and her primary instruments are oboe and flute. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baylor University and completed her student teaching at Gatesville ISD. This past summer, Ms. Sampley completed her Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas.
Her professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, The International Double Reed Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society, and Mu Phi Epsilon. Ms. Sampley enjoys watching Baylor Football and playing with her puppy Holly! She currently resides in Ft Worth, Texas with her partner, Paul.
Travis Ball
Mr. Ball is beginning his 11th year teaching, and his first year at Irma Marsh Middle School, where he will be the Assistant Band Director and Brass Specialist. Prior to coming to Castleberry ISD, Mr. Ball spent 10 years teaching band in Fort Worth ISD.
While in FWISD Mr. Ball taught at Trimble Technical High School, Rosemont Middle School, and most recently at South Hills High School. Mr. Ball has helped lead many ensembles to sweepstakes over the years, including the South Hills Marching Band’s first two advancements to the Area Marching Contest. Mr. Ball’s primary role at SHHS was the Jazz Ensemble Director, where he built a competitive high school and middle school jazz program from the ground up.
Mr. Ball is an alumnus of Abilene Christian University, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Music Education. While at ACU, he studied Bass Trombone, with a focus on Jazz Studies. Mr. Ball is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Jazz Educators Association.
During his free time, Mr. Ball enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristen, his two-year-old son, Jackson, and is excited to welcome his second son this coming November. Mr. Ball enjoys traveling the world, hiking, playing Pokémon and cuddling with his two puppies, Penny and Gracie. Mr. Ball is very excited to be a part of the Castleberry ISD Band Staff, and is looking forward to a great year at Irma Marsh Middle School.
Taylor Dwyer
Taylor Dwyer is in his 5th year as the Director of Percussion for Castleberry ISD. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas with a concentration in percussion studies. Mr. Dwyer is in his 10th year of teaching. Before joining the Castleberry team, he served as Assistant Percussion Director for Lewisville HS, Duncanville ISD and Cleburne ISD. He is an active clinician and adjudicator in the DFW Metroplex.
