Celebrating the 2nd Six Weeks
Last week, we were able to celebrate all of our students with Perfect Attendance, A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, and Student of the Week!  
Understanding HB4545
Did you know that in compliance with House Bill 4545, IMMS is providing mandatory accelerated instruction for students who did not take or did not pass one or more of their STAAR assessments during the 2020-2021 school year? 
Region 30 ATSSB Middle School Band Competition
On November 13th, 18 IMMS Honor Band student members auditioned for placement in the Region 30 ATSSB Middle School Band. 
Creative Writing at Irma Marsh
7th-grade English Reading Language Arts teacher, Mr. Knudsen, hosts the Creative Writing Club and writing contests at Irma Marsh. Ever since he was in elementary school, Mr. Knudsen has seen writing as both a form of self-expression and an escape from some of the many challenges in life. He hopes that the club and contests inspire students to write creatively as well.  
Choir Students Advance to Regionals
On October 9, 2021, the Irma Marsh MS Lion Choir competed in the Region 30 Choir auditions. Almost 900 students competed that day.

Tarrant County Crime Stoppers
Vandalism of school property is a ticket-able offense and students will be fully prosecuted or monetary restitution may be attached with the offense. 
Gifted and Talented Student Nominations
Nominations for the Castleberry ISD Gifted and Talented (GT) Program will be accepted beginning September 20 through October 1. 
IMMS Soccer Stars
We want to highlight two of our amazing 6th grade students: Melany and Abigail. These two young people have competed in the National Tournament for club soccer. They even made it to the semi-finals! 
Upcoming STAAR Information
I am so proud of our students and staff this year. Although they have endured some unprecedented challenges as a result of the global pandemic, they have shown such resilience and a commitment to excellence! 
IMMS wins at UIL Academics!
The University Interscholastic League offers the most comprehensive program of academic competition in the nation. UIL Academics offers more activities than any other UIL division, with 30 contests at the high school level and 20 A+ Academic contests for grades 2-8. More than half a million students participate in UIL academic contests each year. 
7th Grade Writing STAAR on 4/6
The 7th Grade Writing STAAR will be held Tuesday, April 6th at IMMS. All 7th grade students are required to take STAAR in person at IMMS. STAAR tests are an important way to gauge your child’s learning this year and make plans to address any areas of concern.  
North Texas Teen Book Festival
The Irma Marsh Library celebrated Reading Across America Week by visiting the North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF) in a virtual event. The NTTBF is a free one-day festival that promotes reading and celebrates both middle grade and young adult literature. 
Virtual District Science Fair
Students in grades three through eight have been working hard all year on their projects to prepare for this event. The top winners in each classroom were selected to compete at the district level.  
PACE Saturdays - Free additional help for your child!
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives in ways we could not have imagined. The way we educate children has had to shift rapidly in order to ensure that every child has the same opportunity to learn and doesn’t fall behind or miss opportunities to excel 
Benchmark Instructions
Benchmarks will be held December 14-17 at IMMS. If you are an in person learner, you will report to campus to test. If you are a remote learner whose parent filled out the confirmation, you will also report to campus to test. 
Notification of IMMS Fall Benchmarks
IMMS will be administering fall benchmarks the week of Dec. 14 - 18. Benchmarks are considered semester exams and will count as a major grade for each of your student’s classes. It is important to ensure your student is in attendance during these important exams.

Introducing the New Irma Marsh Middle School!
CISD Family, As many of you know, in December of 2018, Castleberry ISD began major renovations and additions to Irma Marsh Middle School. The renovations and additions addressed instructional and collaboration spaces, Career and Technology classrooms, a new Fine Arts wing, science labs, and a new library which is located on the second floor. In addition, the cost to renovate and make the needed additions to IMMS was just under $25 million, which CISD paid for without having to pass a bond issue.

IMMS Construction Update: June
Work is progressing at Irma Marsh Middle School as crews shift their focus from the northern end of the building to the southern sections. They are placing the finishing touches on the classrooms, Life Skills rooms, and Art rooms which are located in the space that was formerly the old band hall and IMMS main office.

Irma Marsh Middle School student council has earned recognition as a Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Sweepstakes Council, the highest honor a TASC council can achieve.

While the closing of brick and mortar schools may have the district working in uncharted territory, we feel that several major initiatives such as our Digital Equity 4 All and the One-to-One Student to Computer Initiative ensures the district will be able to continue educating our students while they are in a safe place at home with their families. New Interim Assistant Principal
Did you hear the news? Mr. Webb is going to be serving as Acting Principal of Castleberry High! This means that Irma Marsh needs a new Assistant Principal while he is at the high school. The District believes they have found just the right person for the job in Mrs. Darla Wilson.

On November 4, 2019, students from Irma Marsh Middle School were invited by BTC, our construction company, to participate in what is known as a “topping off” ceremony.

IMMS Construction Update-November
Construction of the front addition to Irma Marsh Middle School is winding down. The exterior brick is complete and the installation of the panels will follow. Workers are finishing up the interior of what will be a beautiful new entrance to the school, new administrative offices, and a new library/media center.
