The Irma Marsh Library celebrated Reading Across America Week by visiting the North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF) in a virtual event. The NTTBF is a free one-day festival that promotes reading and celebrates both middle grade and young adult literature. It is hosted by the Irving Public Library and its partners, Barnes & Nobel, Friends of the Irving Public Library, local school districts, museums, other local libraries, and the DFW chapter of the Forever YA Book Club. This year we visited virtually by watching popular authors speak about their upcoming books.

Students in the library received prizes for being strong readers, enjoyed refreshments, and were able to checkout new books that were recently added to the library. Staff members came to the library and shared in their love of reading with students. IMMS believes in a culture of literacy and thanks everyone for participating, including elementary librarians who waved hello and encouraged former students to keep reading. Our High School librarian welcomed our outgoing 8th graders, as well, who will be freshman and soon will access the Cube Library at Castleberry High School.
