IMMS Theater Wins Big Irma Marsh Middle School’s Lion Theatre Jr. won first place at the UIL One Act Play Competition held at Azle High School on Saturday, Feb. 4.

IMMS Volleyball Review Despite our record for 8th grade B team, I am pleased to report our volleyball season had an all-around athletic success.
IMMS Football Review The teams worked hard this year learning the meaning of discipline and getting better everyday. The athletes became familiar with the Castleberry Athletics Program and were able to understand our high standards and discipline.
IMMS Auditions for All-Region Band The IMMS Lion Band had 50 students audition for placement at the ATSSB Region Band. Our students performed fantastically! Students have been practicing their music and site reading for months to prepare for this day.
Theater 1 Showcase The theatre one students performed a Halloween themed showcase highlighting what they had learned in theatre class so far this school year.
Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
Welcome Back to IMMS! We are so excited to welcome you to school this week. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the new principal of Irma Marsh Middle School. As a River Oaks community member, who attended IMMS and graduated from Castleberry High School, I am truly honored to serve here after being an assistant principal for 3 years.

Girls Track: Meet of Champions We were able to represent Irma Marsh Middle School with ten girls at the Meet of Champions this 2022 Season! Our 7th grade track team exceeded our expectations this year by qualifying all of our relay teams for the Big 5 Meet of Champions.
Congrats IMMS Choir! Congratulations to the IMMS Choirs for their excellent performances at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluations last week in Aledo! The Tenor-Bass choir earned an excellent rating on stage and a first division in the Sight-Reading room, which was their first 1st division ever for this ensemble!
World Read Aloud Day @ IMMS For 13 years, World Read Aloud Day has celebrated the power of reading aloud and bringing people together through the shared connection of reading. This global effort is recognized annually in over 173 countries and right here at Irma Marsh Middle School.
CHS Counseling Team and CCMR Presents High School Course Selections for 8th Grade Castleberry High School counselors and the district’s College, Career, and Military Readiness teams are teaming up to present high school course selections for 8th grade. Parents and guardians of current 8th grade students are encouraged to attend this event live online or watch the recording, which will be available at the conclusion of the live stream.

Region 30 ATSSB Middle School Band Competition On November 13th, 18 IMMS Honor Band student members auditioned for placement in the Region 30 ATSSB Middle School Band.
Creative Writing at Irma Marsh 7th-grade English Reading Language Arts teacher, Mr. Knudsen, hosts the Creative Writing Club and writing contests at Irma Marsh. Ever since he was in elementary school, Mr. Knudsen has seen writing as both a form of self-expression and an escape from some of the many challenges in life. He hopes that the club and contests inspire students to write creatively as well.
Choir Students Advance to Regionals On October 9, 2021, the Irma Marsh MS Lion Choir competed in the Region 30 Choir auditions. Almost 900 students competed that day.

IMMS Soccer Stars We want to highlight two of our amazing 6th grade students: Melany and Abigail. These two young people have competed in the National Tournament for club soccer. They even made it to the semi-finals!
Upcoming STAAR Information I am so proud of our students and staff this year. Although they have endured some unprecedented challenges as a result of the global pandemic, they have shown such resilience and a commitment to excellence!
IMMS wins at UIL Academics! The University Interscholastic League offers the most comprehensive program of academic competition in the nation. UIL Academics offers more activities than any other UIL division, with 30 contests at the high school level and 20 A+ Academic contests for grades 2-8. More than half a million students participate in UIL academic contests each year.
7th Grade Writing STAAR on 4/6 The 7th Grade Writing STAAR will be held Tuesday, April 6th at IMMS. All 7th grade students are required to take STAAR in person at IMMS. STAAR tests are an important way to gauge your child’s learning this year and make plans to address any areas of concern.
North Texas Teen Book Festival The Irma Marsh Library celebrated Reading Across America Week by visiting the North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF) in a virtual event. The NTTBF is a free one-day festival that promotes reading and celebrates both middle grade and young adult literature.
Virtual District Science Fair Students in grades three through eight have been working hard all year on their projects to prepare for this event. The top winners in each classroom were selected to compete at the district level.

Benchmark Instructions Benchmarks will be held December 14-17 at IMMS. If you are an in person learner, you will report to campus to test. If you are a remote learner whose parent filled out the confirmation, you will also report to campus to test.
Notification of IMMS Fall Benchmarks IMMS will be administering fall benchmarks the week of Dec. 14 - 18. Benchmarks are considered semester exams and will count as a major grade for each of your student’s classes. It is important to ensure your student is in attendance during these important exams.
All In-Person Students Learn Remotely Leading up to Thanksgiving Break Introducing the New Irma Marsh Middle School! CISD Family, As many of you know, in December of 2018, Castleberry ISD began major renovations and additions to Irma Marsh Middle School. The renovations and additions addressed instructional and collaboration spaces, Career and Technology classrooms, a new Fine Arts wing, science labs, and a new library which is located on the second floor. In addition, the cost to renovate and make the needed additions to IMMS was just under $25 million, which CISD paid for without having to pass a bond issue.
