About the Directors

Alexis Sampley

Alexis Sampley is entering her 4th year teaching and her third yearat Irma Marsh Middle School. Prior to IMMS, Alexis taught at Bridgeport ISD and assisted with all high school and middle school band activities! Currently, her responsibilities include teaching the beginner flute, oboe, and saxophone classes along with leading the symphonic band and co-teaching all other middle school band classes! 

Hailing from Italy, TX, Ms. Sampley graduated from Italy High School and her primary instruments are oboe and flute. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baylor University and completed her student teaching at Gatesville ISD. This past summer, Ms. Sampley completed her Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas. 

Her professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, The International Double Reed Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society, and Mu Phi Epsilon. Ms. Sampley enjoys watching Baylor Football and playing with her puppy Holly! She currently resides in Ft Worth, Texas with her partner, Paul.

Zachary Rodgers 

Zach Rodgers is entering his first year as a band director at Irma Marsh Middle School. Zach is a trumpet player by trade, and has spent the past several years teaching at several different schools and youth music educational programs around the country, assisting with marching bands, trumpet studios, and brass ensembles. 

Mr. Rodgers has lived all around the state and country, and has studied with numerous music educators and renowned trumpet players, but was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, graduating from Birdville High School.

Mr. Rodgers has an involved history with Drum Corps International, and has participated with several groups including The Blue Knights from Denver, Colorado, and most recently The Blue Devils from Concord, California, and won the World Championship during his participation as a member. Recently he has spent time teaching in the activity, teaching at the San Antonio based group, The Crossmen.

Outside of music and education, Mr. Rodgers enjoys spending his free time with his dog, going to the gym, watching the NBA (Go Lakers!), and reading books by his favorite author Louis L’Amour. Mr. Rodgers currently resides in Fort Worth.

Taylor Dwyer

Taylor Dwyer is in his 4th year as the Director of Percussion for Castleberry ISD. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas with a concentration in percussion studies. Mr. Dwyer is in his 9th year of teaching. Before joining the Castleberry team, he served as Assistant Percussion Director for Lewisville HS, Duncanville ISD and Cleburne ISD.
